Faculty Director, Sustainable Food Initiative

William Rosenzweig is an internationally recognized entrepreneur, venture investor and educator. He serves as the Faculty Director of the Sustainable Food Initiative at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Will was the founding CEO of The Republic of Tea and spent a decade playing key roles at companies including Odwalla, LeapFrog, and Hambrecht Vineyards & Wineries. During the past fifteen years, he was the Managing Partner of Physic Ventures, the first venture capital fund focused on investing in keeping people healthy. He has been on the faculty of BerkeleyHaas since 1999, and designed and taught the first courses in Social Entrepreneurship. Revolution Foods, Indiegogo, GoodGuide and World of Good all got their start in his courses. He currently leads Edible Education 101 (with Alice Waters) and Food Innovation Studio, a cross-disciplinary graduate lab. Will is the recipient of the Oslo Business for Peace Award and was recognized by Bon Appetit Magazine as one of seven people shaping the future of food. He is the co-author of the best-selling “Republic of Tea: How an Idea Becomes a Business”, which has been named one of the 100 best business books of all time.
